Accident Recovery · Phoenix Metro

Post-collision tow and recovery on Phoenix freeways and surface streets.

The I-10 / I-17 stack downtown is one of the highest-density accident zones in Arizona. We work it daily, insurance billing, body shop coordination, and the calm presence to handle the after-impact ten minutes.

The short answer
Call (602) 555-0199from the scene. If you're injured, call 911 first. Tell our dispatcher the freeway and direction, the nearest exit, your insurance carrier, and where you want the vehicle delivered. We tow direct to your preferred body shop, dealer, or storage yard. Insurance billing is direct, you don't front the cost.

The first ten minutes after a Phoenix accident

If anyone is hurt, call 911. Otherwise, the priority order is move the vehicles out of the active lane if it's safe and they still drive, turn on hazards, exchange driver information and insurance carrier, and document the scene with photos before either vehicle is moved further. Phoenix PD response on a non- injury accident is typically 25 to 90 minutes depending on the time of day. You can use that time to call us.

The most important thing to know: under Arizona law, you have the right to choose your own tow company and your own body shop. The officer on scene may dispatch a rotation tow if your vehicle is blocking traffic or you haven't called your own. Once a rotation tow is on the way, transferring out of their yard costs you an extra fee. The cleanest path is to call us as soon as the scene is safe.

The I-10 / I-17 stack: Phoenix's highest-density accident zone

The interchange where I-10, I-17, and the SR-202L all converge through downtown Phoenix is one of the busiest urban interchanges in the country. The lane geometry, the merge points, and the heavy volume of out-of-state drivers (especially during snowbird season from November through March) produce a steady flow of fender-benders and more serious collisions every day.

We work the stack daily. Our drivers know which shoulders are wide enough to load safely, which are too narrow and require a rolling block from DPS before we can hook up, and which exits to use to clear the scene fastest. The most common accident spots we respond to are the I-10 eastbound merge at I-17 northbound, the I-10 westbound exit to 7th Avenue, and the SR-202L eastbound transition to I-10 eastbound. If you tell our dispatcher one of those, we know exactly where to route the truck.

Insurance billing, we handle the paperwork

We bill direct to all major insurance carriers. If you're at fault, your comprehensive or collision policy covers the tow as part of the claim. If the other driver is at fault, their carrier's liability covers it. Either way, you don't front the cost. Tell our dispatcher the carrier and policy number on the call (or as soon as you have it), and we'll route the bill.

If you're uninsured or your policy doesn't cover towing, we accept card, cash, and most app-based payment. We quote the flat rate before the truck rolls so there are no surprises at the body shop.

Coordinating with body shops and dealers

Most accident tows go straight to a body shop. We have working relationships with the major Valley chains (Caliber Collision, Service King, Gerber Collision) and most of the established independents. If you have a preferred shop, tell us on the call. If you don't, we'll suggest one based on your vehicle make, your insurance carrier's preferred network, and the nearest available bay.

For luxury and dealer-only repairs (most modern German cars, Tesla, certain Lexus and Acura models), we tow direct to the dealer service drive. We've done the route from the I-10 stack to Audi North Scottsdale, BMW North Scottsdale, Mercedes-Benz of Chandler, and Tesla Service Mesa hundreds of times. Dealer-direct tows preserve warranty coverage and avoid the body-shop sublet fee some manufacturers charge if work is done outside the dealer.

Heavy-duty accident recovery

For Class 8 truck recoveries, rollovers, and complex multi-vehicle scenes, we coordinate with our heavy-duty partner that runs Class 7 and Class 8 wreckers. We can stage on-scene immediately to clear passenger vehicles while the heavy gear is on the way. For freight loss, we coordinate with shippers and consignees directly.

Quick answers

Phoenix accident towing, quick answers

Do I have to use the tow company the police call?+
No. Arizona law gives you the right to choose your own tow provider after a non-injury accident as long as the vehicle isn't blocking traffic. If a rotation tow has already been called by Phoenix PD or Arizona DPS, you can request a transfer at the storage yard, but you'll pay both the rotation fee and the transfer. The cleanest path is to call us before officers dispatch a rotation tow if it's safe to do so.
Will my insurance cover the tow after an accident?+
If you carry comprehensive or collision coverage, the tow is typically covered as part of the claim. We bill direct to most major carriers (State Farm, GEICO, Allstate, Progressive, Farmers, USAA, Liberty Mutual). If you're at fault and the other driver carries the claim, we still bill direct to their carrier. Tell our dispatcher the carrier on the call so we can confirm before the truck rolls.
Can you tow my car directly to my preferred body shop?+
Yes. Arizona law specifically protects your right to choose your own body shop. We tow directly to whichever shop you specify, including the dealer if you prefer dealer service. We have working relationships with most Valley body shops including the major chains (Caliber, Service King, Gerber) and the local independents in Scottsdale, Tempe, and Mesa.
What happens if my vehicle is leaking fluids after the accident?+
Our drivers carry absorbent and fluid-containment kits. For most light passenger accidents we can clean the scene with absorbent. For heavy fluid loss, we coordinate with Phoenix Fire for cleanup if it's already on scene, or with our hazmat response partner if it's not. If your vehicle is leaking actively, do not stand near the puddle, gasoline in 110-degree heat vaporizes much faster than you'd expect.
