Frequently Asked

18 Phoenix tow truck questions, answered honestly.

Pricing. ETAs. Monsoons. Snowbird cars. Insurance billing. Spanish dispatch. EV procedures. Mall lockouts. The questions our dispatchers answer most often, written down so you don't have to ask.

How fast can you get to me in Scottsdale?+
From our central Phoenix yard at Camelback and 28th, we average 15-22 minutes to most of Scottsdale. South Scottsdale and Old Town run 12-18 minutes. North Scottsdale and Pinnacle Peak run 18-25 minutes. Spring Training game-day adds 5-10 minutes near Salt River Fields.
How fast can you get to the ASU Tempe campus?+
12-18 minutes from our central Phoenix yard. We know the campus parking decks (Apache Boulevard structure, the Tempe Center for the Arts garage, the lots off University Drive). Tell the dispatcher the lot or cross-street and we'll route directly without circling.
Do you tow during dust storms (haboobs)?+
We hold the truck until visibility recovers, usually 20 to 40 minutes after a haboob hits, then dispatch with hazards running. Driving a wrecker through near-zero visibility risks compounding the situation, but we'll be there as soon as we can move safely.
Do you tow during monsoon flooding?+
Yes, we run winch-out service from the apron of any flooded underpass that hasn't taken on more than 18 inches of water. Vehicles stranded deeper than the running boards require coordination with Phoenix Fire, which we'll arrange. We do not drive recovery trucks into water deeper than the running boards.
My car overheated on the I-10. What do I do?+
Pull off at the next exit if you can. Turn the engine off. Do not open the radiator cap (the coolant is pressurized and will spray). Roll the windows down, sit in shade if available, drink water, and call us with your exit number. Average summer ETA is 12-25 minutes depending on which freeway segment.
Do you offer flatbed towing for luxury vehicles?+
Yes. Flatbed is our default for any vehicle that's AWD, an EV, lowered, exotic, or has a manufacturer warranty requirement (most modern German cars). We use 32-foot rollback flatbeds with soft straps, long approach ramps, and rubber under strap contact points.
What's your service area?+
We dispatch across Maricopa County: Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Goodyear, Avondale. Long-haul tows to Tucson, Flagstaff, Yuma, and Southern California are quoted by the mile.
Do you tow motorcycles?+
Yes. We carry motorcycle wheel chocks, soft tie-down kits, and the cradles needed for everything from a Vespa to a Harley Road King. Flatbed only, we do not tow motorcycles on a wheel-lift.
Can you tow my car from Phoenix to Tucson?+
Yes. Phoenix to Tucson is a regular long-haul route for us, about $385 flat. We also do Phoenix to Las Vegas (~$725), Phoenix to LA (~$850), Phoenix to Yuma, Phoenix to Flagstaff. Out-of-state tows quoted per mile on the call.
Do you speak Spanish?+
Sí. Our dispatchers and most of our drivers are bilingual. WhatsApp dispatch is available in either language, many customers prefer texting their location and a photo of the vehicle.
What's the cost of a basic local tow?+
$95 to $140 flat for a light-duty local tow inside the Phoenix metro. Flatbed runs $130-$175. After-midnight calls add a $25 night premium. We quote the full price on the call before the truck rolls.
Do you bill insurance directly?+
Yes, for all major carriers: State Farm, GEICO, Allstate, Progressive, Farmers, USAA, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, Travelers, American Family. Tell the dispatcher the carrier and we'll route the bill.
What if I'm in an accident, do I have to use the police-called tow?+
No. Arizona law gives you the right to choose your own tow provider after a non-injury accident. You can call us before officers dispatch a rotation tow if it's safe. Once a rotation tow is on the way, transferring out of their yard costs a fee.
Can you tow my Tesla or other EV safely?+
Yes. EVs cannot be wheel-lifted because the regenerative drivetrain doesn't free-spin safely. We send a flatbed and follow the manufacturer's tow procedure (Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, Mach-E, Polestar each have slightly different recommendations). We have the laminated procedure cards in every flatbed cab.
What if my car's battery is dead in summer?+
Call us. Phoenix heat kills batteries faster than cold, average battery life here is 2-3 years vs 4-5 in moderate climates. Our service vans carry common battery sizes (Group 24, 35, 48, 65, 78, H6) so we can replace on the spot if a jumpstart won't hold.
Locked out at the mall or airport?+
We average 18-25 minutes to mall lots (Scottsdale Fashion Square, Tempe Marketplace, Chandler Fashion Center, Westgate) and 22-32 minutes to Sky Harbor terminals. We don't break windows, we use slim-jim and air-bag kits for older vehicles and modern key-loop tools for cars built after 2018.
Critical: child or pet locked in the car in summer heat?+
Call us immediately and tell the dispatcher. We'll roll the closest truck in front of any other call. If we can't reach you in seven minutes and ambient is above 95°F, the dispatcher will tell you to call 911, Phoenix Fire will break the window. Don't wait. Interior temps exceed 130°F in ten minutes.
Do you sell roadside membership programs?+
No. Memberships are profitable for the seller and not always profitable for the customer. If you use roadside service less than three times a year, paying per call is almost always cheaper. We bill direct to existing memberships (AAA, Better World Club, Allstate Motor Club) if you have one.
